Marques A. Ivey

I have lived in Aurora for over 13 years, and I have been a small business owner/ practicing attorney in Aurora for that 13 years. My interest in being on the School Board comes from my prospective of being married to an educator, who has educated in the district for over 10 years. I also bring the prospective of being a parent, who is raising children within the district. I also bring my prospective as a trial attorney who has spent the majority of my career helping families through, divorce, child custody, dependency and neglect, truancy, and criminal matters. And finally, I bring the prospective of a volunteer who has been trained in the tradition of National PTA, a 120 year old grassroots association with its movement exclusively devoted to fully fund schools and make every child’s potential a reality. This has been a passion and desire of mine for over a decade. I have helped, taught, and advocated for children at all levels, but it comes full circle for me to be at the local level where I can use what I gained to make an immediate impact.
