New site, new digs, same goals

Hello Members and Friends,
We have just launched our new website so you can get the latest news on A+ Denver and Denver Public Schools, check it out: www.apluscolorado.org. We will be updating it several times a week with news and resources related to our work.

If any of you are interested in regularly providing information or blogging on the site, please contact Liz orI via email. We would very much like to broaden the conversation on how to accelerate and deepen improvement in DPS. We are also interested in any feedback about how we can make the website more useful to you.

A+ Denver, along with our partners the Colorado Children’s Campaign and Metro Organization for People, will be issuing a new report “Start with the Facts: Strengthening Denver Public Schools’ Education Pipeline” on November 30. The report will provide a description of the trend lines in achievement over the last five years in Denver from Early Childhood education through college. It is an update of our report on DPS reform issued in 2009 which you can see on our website here, titled “Denver’s Public School’s: Reforms, Challenges and the Future.

If you missed any of the recent reports from A+ on school turnarounds or school quality by school member district issued last month you can find them here on our website.

A+ Denver will be moving to a new location at 2543 California Street starting in January to accommodate our growth and take advantage of the synergy with other education non-profits. Get Smart Schools, Education Reform Now and a few others will all be sharing phones, copiers, conference rooms and ideas. I’m calling it the House of Ed Reform.

Please keep the questions, suggestions and ideas coming.

Thanks, Van
