How We Elevated

Last Friday, over 250 Coloradans came together for our first ever How We Elevate event. It was a smashing success thanks to incredible sponsors, inspirational awardees, and energetic attendees.

We presented three transformational leaders with our inaugural “Steward of Education Award.” Senator Michael Bennet, Former Denver Public Schools Board Member Rosemary Rodriguez and Former Denver Mayor Federico Peña accepted the awards in recognition of their servant leadership in accelerating outcomes for students across Colorado.

Check below for photos (and click here for even more!) from the evening and a video produced by an Emily Griffith Technical College student of our awardees. Take a look at the timeline from the event highlighting the past decade of Colorado and Denver’s education initiatives and A+ Colorado advocacy.  And, check out this video of our awardees.

“How We Elevate is about celebrating where we’ve been, understanding where we are now and building momentum to where we are going,” shared A+ Colorado CEO Van Schoales.  “What we heard on Friday were leaders across the state declare the importance of A+ Colorado as an independent voice and the need for urgent action for students. A+ is committed to working across Colorado to elevate all of our students.”

Thanks to those that joined us on Friday! Hope to see you next year and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming A+ Colorado event soon.
